SMS Opt-In — Notice Book
This page documents how Notice Book obtains express written consent before sending reminder text messages. Users must actively opt in; no texts are sent without their consent.
Step 1 of 3 — Enter your phone number and agree to receive texts
The Send code button stays disabled until the user actively checks the consent box.
Step 2 of 3 — Check the consent box to enable verification
Checking the box enables the Send code button. No code is sent until the user taps it.
Step 3 of 3 — Enter the 6-digit verification code
Enter the 6-digit code we texted to +1 555 000 1234
We’ll text you a 6-digit code. Standard message rates apply. Reply STOP to any Notice Book text to stop them.
The user must enter the code texted to their phone to complete verification. The phone number is only saved after successful verification.
What is recorded at opt-in
When a user successfully verifies their phone number, Notice Book records: the phone number in E.164 format, the timestamp of consent, and the consent version string (‘2026-09-v1’). This record is used to honor opt-out requests and audit messaging compliance.
Opt-out
Users may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any Notice Book text message. Opt-out is processed immediately; no further messages are sent to that number. Users may also remove their phone number in Settings.
