Notice Book is operated by Acornworks LLC, an Ohio limited liability company (“Acornworks”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Notice Book you agree to these terms and to our Privacy page, which is part of them.
1. Who can use Notice Book
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. Notice Book is offered in the United States. You may only use it for yourself; one person per account.
2. Your account
You sign in with your email address. Keep that inbox secure — anyone who controls it can reach your archive. Tell us right away at info@acornworksai.com if you think someone else has access.
3. What Notice Book is
Notice Book prompts you on a schedule you set, records what you write or say about the people in your life, stamps each note with the date and time, and lets you export it. The people you write about are not users of Notice Book, have no account, and cannot see, request, edit or delete your notes. Notice Book is a journal, not advice; it is not a substitute for counselling or professional help.
4. Your notes
You own everything you write. You give us only the limited permission we need to store your notes, show them to you, send you the reminders you configured, and produce the exports and backups you ask for. We do not read, sell, or use your notes for anything else, and we do not use them to train anything. You are responsible for what you write, including about other people. Do not use Notice Book to store content that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to hold.
5. Plans, trial, and automatic renewal
The trial is free for 30 days and needs no card. Paid plans are Notice Book Yearly at $39 per year and Notice Book Monthly at $4.99 per month, plus any applicable tax. When you subscribe, your plan renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel. For yearly plans we email you at least 14 days before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Manage billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. If we change a price, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. When a plan ends you can still read, edit and export everything, and keep writing about the person you already have; adding people and text or email reminders wait for an active plan.
6. Refunds
If you buy a yearly plan and change your mind, email info@acornworksai.com within 14 days of that first charge and we will refund it in full. Monthly charges, renewals, partial periods and gift purchases are not refundable, except where the law where you live requires otherwise. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
7. Gift codes
A gift code is a one-year Notice Book plan for someone else, bought once for $39. It can be redeemed once, expires one year after purchase, has no cash value, and cannot be resold. The note you write is stored and shown to the recipient when they redeem. If the recipient already has a paid plan, the gift year is added to the end of it.
8. Reminders by text message
If you add your phone number and agree to texts, Notice Book sends reminder text messages to that number. Message frequency varies by how many people you notice and how often, up to a monthly limit shown in Settings. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. You can also turn texts off at any time in Settings. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Anything you reply with, other than STOP, START or HELP, may be saved as a note about the person you were reminded about; you can move or edit it in the app.
9. Reminders and emails
Push and email reminders are controlled per person in the app. We also send account emails — receipts, renewal notices, backups you asked for, and notices about these terms or the service. You can turn reminders off; account emails continue while you have an account.
10. Acceptable use
Do not use Notice Book to harass, threaten or defame anyone; to store content that is illegal; to probe, scrape or interfere with the service; to share an account; or to resell access. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, with notice where practical, and we will give you a chance to export first unless the law prevents it.
11. Our property
Notice Book, its name, mark, design and software belong to Acornworks. You may not copy or reuse them outside the app.
12. No warranties
Notice Book is provided as is. We work hard to send every reminder and keep every note, but we do not promise that reminders arrive on time, that the service is uninterrupted, or that backups are complete. Export regularly if it matters to you.
13. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Acornworks is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost notes, lost profits or lost data, arising from Notice Book. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
14. Your responsibility to us
You agree to cover us for claims that arise from what you write in Notice Book or from your breach of these terms.
15. Ending things
You can delete a person or your whole account at any time in Settings; deletion is permanent and works as described on the Privacy page. If we ever have to end Notice Book, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice and a full export first.
16. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Notice Book after that date means you accept the change.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may bring an eligible claim in small claims court instead.
